Jenny Jackson Dip.Family Therapy, registered with NZAC
I trained with the Human Development and Training Institute in the Family Therapy programme. I’ve worked in school settings with children with severe and challenging behaviours, in agencies and in private practice – with children, adolescents, couples and families.
I’ve been a Counsellor and Family Therapist for 20 years now. What I love about this work is helping people unpack their challenges and figure out how they can be more compassionate with themselves, more peaceful in their relationships and enjoy life more fully. Most people walk in somewhat nervously not knowing what to expect but the feedback is that it’s a relief to be able to talk freely, see themselves more kindly and pick up some new skills that work for them. When I’m not working I’m likely to be spending time with my 3 adult children, ‘chewing the fat’ over a coffee with friends, reading or walking one of our beaches.
I am registered with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and abide by their code of ethics (see the websites for more information).
All your information, whether written or verbal, will be held in the strictest confidence unless your safety, or the safety of others, becomes an issue. Every effort will be made to discuss this with you prior to any action being taken.
I do not provide a 24 hour crisis service. In the event of an emergency please refer to Lifeline or Youthline for 24 hour telephone counselling. See the phone numbers in red on the right.
